ILG is excited to welcome our newest team member, Dakota Spence-Zurek. Dakota was hired in December as an Analyst supporting our Investigations practice. “I am excited to join the ILG team and provide fair, thorough, and thoughtful analysis to all our clients’ employment concerns.” As an Analyst, Dakota brings a passion for employment law, a strong work ethic, and a keen eye for detail.
Prior to joining ILG, Dakota worked as an investigator for the Colorado Department of Labor. There, he investigated wage and hour law complaints including overtime and minimum wage violations, contract and workplace policy disputes, and unpaid wages.
Dakota earned his J.D. from the University of Denver-Sturm College of Law. There, Dakota focused heavily on employment law and graduated with the Workplace Law Certificate. Among his law school experiences, Dakota worked as a research assistant, studying the impacts of workplace scheduling laws, he participated in an employment law practicum, and interned with plaintiff-side employment law firms. For his extensive work and enthusiasm for the field of labor and employment law, Dakota received the John Phillip Linn Labor Law Award. He earned his B.A. from the University of Minnesota.
Like many of us at ILG, Dakota is an outdoor enthusiast. When not at work, Dakota enjoys rock climbing, skiing, running, and finding new ways to challenge himself, embracing his approach to life: “If you understand everything, you must be misinformed.”
